tomorrow is my (laura) birthday- yay! i always love to look back at old pictures and writings to summarize my year. it was a great year for me full of memories, laughter, music, travel, and some hardships too. i went to three concerts (the griswolds, cultivate, and misterwives). i traveled to chicago, philadelphia, cabins up north, california, chile, argentina, boston, and new york. i spent my time being outside, writing, studying, biking, adventuring with friends, taking pictures, enjoying the people around me, and learning about myself. this year challenged me in every way possible but i would not have changed anything if i could. as i conclude yet another year of my life and welcome a new one, i cannot help but think of the people who have gotten me this far. thank you to my parents who taught me how to not take life so seriously, my siblings who taught me how to be myself, my friends that brought so much light to my life, and every person who inspired me.
“accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be” welcome, 17 !
hey, friends! sorry for the lack of posts lately… we have been very busy with school. today, laura is sharing the pictures that have been on her camera roll lately. all photos are from her vsco, check it out!
we are so excited to share our latest collaboration with a local company, truce! we were lucky enough to talk to one of the co-owners, blaire, and get a tour around the place.
when was truce started? two and a half years ago.
what inspired you to open this juice store and why minneapolis? i started juicing when i lived in california and then noticed the absence of a juicing place in minneapolis when i moved here.
why uptown as your first location? i saw minneapolis as a growing city and i really liked it here. i thought that my passion for health and wellness would be appreciated there.
do you live in minneapolis? yes!
how do you stay fit? i love to walk my dog, do yoga, and sometimes pilates.
do you have plans to expand? yes! both product and location wise. we are planning on opening four more locations around the twin cities.
what’s the best part about having your own business? being my own boss!
were there obstacles that came with starting your own business? the hard parts are differently the not-so-fun parts of running a business like hiring and firing, health inspections, etc. those things seem to take up a lot of time!
what do you look for in an employee? i like my employees to be reliable and have a willingness to learn. i also look for someone who is interested in our products.
blaire showed around the shop and explained that all the juices and products are made fresh daily. they receive daily shipments of all the produce and juicers work for six hours every morning to create their delicious juice.
we tried three of their fresh pressed juices: morning greens, early greens, and spiced cashew milk and a delicious almond butter bar.
this post is in partnership with truce- all opinions are our own.
