Mckenna. Age 17.

What is you go-to outfit?

Black jeans and a t-shirt. Or anything with stars because I’m really into them right now.

How does your style reflect who you are?

I just wear what makes me happy. For example, this pin [Scotland flag pin on jean jacket] is from Scotland and it reminds me of my trip there and that makes me happy.

What is one article of clothing you couldn’t live without?

Hats.

What is your favorite piece of clothing that you own?

My yellow baseball hat.

a christmas cruise

this past week, i, jane, spent my time on a cruise through florida and cozumel, mexico. it was a fun filled week spent with some of the most special people in my life, my family. here are a few pictures from our time at sea.

IMG_5581.JPG

the trip started in miami, florida. we celebrated being reunited with relatives as we watched the sun go down and paint the sky purple.

i got this (similar) american eagle tank for airport navigating and the long first day of travel.

on day two, we stopped in key west, florida for a few hours. after jewelry shopping and taking a picture in front of the ernest hemingway house, we boarded the ship for a day by the pool.

cozumel, mexico! i have never seen water so blue or trees so green. amazing. while in cozumel, we went snorkeling and enjoyed a couple hours at the beach.

stepping off the ship in the sunny and gorgeous cozumel made the nights of sea sickness and sea legs all worth it.

thank you carnival cruises and my family for providing nothing but fun and a good time.

room organization

it’s been a while, sorry! we have been busy with the most wonderful season of the year (christmas, of course), but we have some great posts coming your way soon.

today, i (jane) have photographed and linked some useful tips and favorite ways to organize my space and stuff. enjoy !

Screen Shot 2016-12-04 at 3.40.24 PM.png

top left corner: i know we have mentioned our love for them before, but we will never stop loving artifact uprising. they have so many unique picture display products, but our favorites are the square prints. they are reasonably priced, easy to make, and come on sturdy card stock paper; what more could one ask for?! another necessity, i believe, is the wall book holder. it saves me from taking up space with a bed side table. similar here.

top right corner: using awkward window space to store books, clothes, and shoes. plus a minor obsession with polka dots that i am yet to grow out of. bench here.

middle left: shoes! i’m constantly trying to control my shoe collection and obsession. right now, they sit on top of and in my “book” shelf. i enjoy using them as decorative pieces that add some color to my room rather than shoving them into the back of my closet.

bottom left corner: makeup storage has been another struggle of mine. however, these acrylic jars have been working very well. they are super easy to find, but mine are from here. it

bottom right corner: not an organization tip but still a fun idea. i display a few of my favorite photos and some magazine pages that have caught my eye through the years on empty wall spaces.

happy organizing!!

a break from politics

a few links to give you a break from this long day in america.

leonardo decaprio’s documentary on climate change and global warming here (full length on youtube!).

november horoscopes here (better late than never, right??).

i made a variation of this recipe for breakfast this morning. (highly recommend) instead of putting them in the oven, i put them in the microwave for about a minute and 45 seconds. i added a little salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.

some of the most beautiful landscapes on earth here.

have a great night and eventually get back to watching the election poll results because no matter who takes the oval office, we are making history.

jen gotch of ban.do!!

we first found out about jen gotch through blogger bri emery of designlovefest. later we followed jen on instagram and quickly became obsessed. jen gotch is the woman behind ban.do! for those of you who have not yet been blessed with the pleasure of hearing about ban.do, it is a gorgeous, spunky gift and fashion accessory shop. you need to check it out!!  not only is jen a social media queen, but her snapchat (username: jengotch) stories are the funniest thing. seriously, you need to follow her. also, go look through jen’s website as it is officially the coolest and most creative personal website we have ever seen.

jen has also become a very well known photographer. we love her defaced polaroids (below) and her photostrips (more on her cool website):
