room organization

it’s been a while, sorry! we have been busy with the most wonderful season of the year (christmas, of course), but we have some great posts coming your way soon.

today, i (jane) have photographed and linked some useful tips and favorite ways to organize my space and stuff. enjoy !

top left corner: i know we have mentioned our love for them before, but we will never stop loving artifact uprising. they have so many unique picture display products, but our favorites are the square prints. they are reasonably priced, easy to make, and come on sturdy card stock paper; what more could one ask for?! another necessity, i believe, is the wall book holder. it saves me from taking up space with a bed side table. similar here.

top right corner: using awkward window space to store books, clothes, and shoes. plus a minor obsession with polka dots that i am yet to grow out of. bench here.

middle left: shoes! i’m constantly trying to control my shoe collection and obsession. right now, they sit on top of and in my “book” shelf. i enjoy using them as decorative pieces that add some color to my room rather than shoving them into the back of my closet.

bottom left corner: makeup storage has been another struggle of mine. however, these acrylic jars have been working very well. they are super easy to find, but mine are from here. it

bottom right corner: not an organization tip but still a fun idea. i display a few of my favorite photos and some magazine pages that have caught my eye through the years on empty wall spaces.

happy organizing!!

linden hills

today we enjoyed a quiet morning at one of minneapolis’ cutest spots: linden hills! first we grabbed coffee and pastries at rose street patisserie and got some work done (we’ve also concluded that senior slides are not a real thing). then we set off to walk through some of the small boutiques around the area, including honeyshine and the best children’s book store, wild rumpus.

here’s some pictures from our rainy fall morning:

rose street is such a serene spot

they also have the yummiest food, a must go to for all those in the local area

wild rumpus has chickens, cats, and birds just hanging out in random parts of the store. we used to come here all the time when we were little, it is truly a great place.

fall days

as the weather starts to turn, our outdoor activity ideas have started to become more and more unrealistic. so, we have kept ourselves occupied with lots of tea and craft days with friends. here are what our fall days have looked like.

summer thoughts

it’s that time of year again where all we can think about while sitting in class is the beautiful weather and the adventures we have in store for these next few months. we are excitedly anticipating summer and have numerous fun plans in the works.

this summer we challenge you to join us in:

going to concerts!

getting more sleep

daily journaling

finding a good book

spending time outside everyday

wearing less makeup

working a job you love

but before we get to enjoy the sun, we have a few weeks left of spring. but, as spring comes to an end, it’s fun to reflect on what we’ve been up to recently. as you may have read here , laura turned 17! happy (late) birthday laura, don’t let 17 be any less amazing than 16 and keep being you! also, we both got to get dressed up a few different times for various occasions and found these shoes and these shoes perfect additions to our spring closets.

we hope to have another summer playlist post out soon but for now enjoy laura’s “non-bummer summer” jams here.

lastly, we are excited to announce our special commitment to this corner of the web for the summer and that we will be doing daily [weekday] posts on everything from what we wore to what did each day. we hope you continue to follow along!
